13 kilometers today,  a short day that we are turning into a 30 kilometer stretch as we are trying to shorten the following day by a lot. This will put us in Leon early and give us a full day in that city to rest, sight see, and simply regroup.
The day started wet, but so was I, so off we set , stopping for breakfast at a village called Moratinos. Had a warm Cafe con Letche and a pastry, then I took an alternative route, as the main route went along the highway, good choice as it turns out. The farmland was spectacular in the early morning light, not sure the photos do it justice.
At the town of San Nicolas, we crossed out of Palencia and into the province of Leon, we also passed the halfway mark of this leg, with 400 kilometers to go, but that wont be the end for me.
We came into Sahagun our supposed night stop, which was home to the most important Benedictine Monestary in Spain until the 19 th  century, and discovered they were running the bulls tonight, an annual event or celebration. I have run the bulls of Pamplona before , which is the real run, but this might be fun to watch, so we might come back tonight to watch, they only run regular bulls in this event, and it won't be exciting like Pamplona, where they run the real deal bulls, but hey, it might be a laugh.
 Sahagun

We walked on to Calzada Del Coto for a lunch stop and a break for the toes,  had to wait for a few of the gang, they were dragging awhile, so I had a beer.
The Way today isn't exciting, but it is peacefull and pretty smooth underfoot
.
We are now in El Burgo Ranero, our town for tonight, and the main Albergue is full, so we are staying at a little one on the edge of town. I wonder if my bed bug is still in my bag, not much of my ass left to chew on.!

The sun is coming out and tomorrow is supposed to be fine again, chance to try my new floppy sun hat as we head out towards Leon.

underground housing, pretty novel for out here. Food time and my tummy will be happy
