The day started wet, but so was I, so off we set , stopping for breakfast at a village called Moratinos. Had a warm Cafe con Letche and a pastry, then I took an alternative route, as the main route went along the highway, good choice as it turns out. The farmland was spectacular in the early morning light, not sure the photos do it justice.
At the town of San Nicolas, we crossed out of Palencia and into the province of Leon, we also passed the halfway mark of this leg, with 400 kilometers to go, but that wont be the end for me.
We came into Sahagun our supposed night stop, which was home to the most important Benedictine Monestary in Spain until the 19 th century, and discovered they were running the bulls tonight, an annual event or celebration. I have run the bulls of Pamplona before , which is the real run, but this might be fun to watch, so we might come back tonight to watch, they only run regular bulls in this event, and it won't be exciting like Pamplona, where they run the real deal bulls, but hey, it might be a laugh.
